Will Your Emotions Affect Your Weight Loss
Many of us completely oversee the pivotal role that our emotions play in our weight loss and gain. We presume it is only about calories, eating right and working out.
This truth cannot be denied though; the fact also is that our emotions have a very important role to play in how fast we shed the pounds and this would result in the success or failure of our tryst for weight loss.
You all must have seen many people who keep on exercising constantly, they eat well, and are very particular about their calorie intake, and still they fail to achieve the desired results. If this is happening to you or to someone you know, the emotional trap can be a reason behind the failure.
When you talk about emotions, the reference is made to especially emotions which are negative. Emotions which make you feel pathetic like fear, depression, stress and apathy. If we talk about positive emotions, they can on the other hand be an amazing asset for weight loss.
Why negative emotions affect weight loss?
When people fall in trap of negative emotions, they couldn’t find a way out and food is the easiest escape route they find to get out of this emotional trap. Food like chocolate and desserts etc. which make you feel good are the major culprits.
Another reason is that your emotions are powerful enough to radically impact each and every fraction of the body. Like when you are extremely depressed your metabolism reacts as it slows down and comes almost at a standstill. Negative emotions slow the metabolism considerably and have a negative effect on our weight loss.
What we should do is when we know the effect of these negative emotions we should be very particular about them. You should try and neutralize your negative emotions and make them work for yourself. Take on full charge of your emotions than the other way round.
You would be the first person to know when negative emotions are heading your way. Hence when you feel any non-positive emotion coming your way, take complete stock of what you want and change your emotions for better. When you realise your emotions aren’t in sync with your goals, you would want to get rid of them at the earliest.
