Types of Dance Aerobics

There are many reasons why you should incorporate dance aerobics in your workout. Some people enjoy the way dance moves are used along with stretch, toning and strength training in this workout. Now let us talk about different styles of dance aerobics:

Freestyle is the general form which is used in many aerobics sessions. Here the trainer choreographs many small dance combos, the other half of this session is meant for strength/weight training, like lunges, crunches etc.

Hip-hop style has a trainer choreograph a routine which is based dance moves while some hip-hop music is played.

Latin Style is based on the dance from Latin America dance which has salsa on some Latin music.

Zumba aerobics is a popular fusion of Latin aerobics; Afro-Cuban aerobics comes from Caribbean and Africa.

Step Aerobics is done when participants use a step or platform which raises the energy level of a simple aerobic routine.

Kickboxing combines self-defence and martial art movements like punching and kicking, there is no contact engaged in this workout.

Cardio funk workout is alike the hip-hop form, where cardio workout is given more importance.

Jazzercise are offered by specially trained instructors and it incorporates moves from kick boxing, hip-hop and dance aerobics, it also takes help from yoga and Pilates.

Bollywood Style is taken from complex dance moves from Indian films; set against modern Indian music.

Belly Dance incorporate moves from belly dance and has moves like hip moves, shimmies, and arm move. This one is a low-impact routine.

Erotic dance workout is a recent form of dance aerobics, where trainers use sexy, erotic moves.
