One of the most sought after New Year’s resolution is to lose weight or to eat and stay healthy. Almost every second person in the US makes a resolution to lose weight, or to opt for a healthy diet, or to exercise daily. But hardly handful is able to carry and stick to their resolution.
The basic reason why people are not able to follow their resolution is it’s hard to stick with a goal as vague, as big, as weight loss. You will have success if you can set a realistic and specific goal. Here are two simple, specific and easy weight loss resolutions that will help you in your weight loss endeavour.
Drink Ample Amount of Water
Weight loss literally depends on hydration and to remain hydrated we need to drink sufficient amount of water. Without adequate water, our body will not be able to metabolize fat and eventually we will not be able to lose weight. Water also helps in digestion and flushing out toxins and waste materials from out body, this process also helps our body to burn fat faster.
Water keeps our mouth and hand busy and stomach full that may help us in avoiding over eating. Many weight loss experts and dieters recommend having a glass full of water before and after every meal, this will make us relatively full and will keep us away from overeating. Water is also very helpful in curbing the desire of eating snacks in between meals.
Try to have at least three-four liter of water in day. First thing after getting up from your bed, try to have 2 glasses of water. This will flush out the water material from your body and will also increase your metabolic rate.
Sleep More Hours
Most of the resolution made in New Year pertaining to weight loss sounds like “healthy eating”, or “eat less”, or “exercise more”, or “avoid junk food”. These resolutions are difficult for you to follow and stick around. How about a resolution, which will allow you to sleep more? Yes! Make a resolution to sleep more hours. It’s very important for you and your body to have sufficient rest in order to lose weight. Try to have 8 hours of sound sleep. Adequate sleep will provide energy for your body to exercise hard and moreover it will enhance mental clarity which will help you to make a smart eating choice.
Proper sleep will also reduce the stress level. When we are stressed, our body produced a special hormone cortisol. Though, this hormone helps you in dealing with crisis, but on the other hand it also directs your body to store extra fat. So if you don’t want your body to store extra fat, reduce the stress level by having adequate sleep. To get weight loss benefits of sleep, try to have at least eight hours per night.
