Tips for Eating Less
Eating less is maintaining a controlled diet is extremely important for losing weight.
Multiple meals throughout the day: Make sure you eat 5-6 small healthy meals in a day; this would keep your metabolism high and help you lose weight, besides you won’t feel hungry if you eat healthy meal throughout the day.
Portion Control: Keep a check on your portion. Make sure you don’t overeat, many people follow a healthy diet but they don’t take care of the portion size.
Eat healthy and variety food, keep the quantity low: Make sure you don’t compromise on the taste, have different kind of food but lower the quantity you eat.
Take out time for Eating: You need around 20 minutes, which will be taken by your stomach to send a signal to your mind and say that it is full. Eat slowly, chew well and don’t rush. If you don’t do so, you won’t feel full and end up eating more.
Don’t watch TV while eating: Make sure you don’t watch television and eat, this way you don’t pay heed at what and how much are you eating and end up eating more than usual.
Make eating a Family Affair: Try and eat a meal as a family, this way you would have healthy discussion around that meal, feel relaxed and relieve any stress.
Portion is not only for Main Meal: Many people keep a check of the portions of their meals but don’t focus on the portion size of their snacks. They end up having the entire packet of a low fat snack which isn’t advisable at any cost.
Don’t eat directly out of container: This way you would end up eating more than normal, take out the food in a bowl and then eat, this way you will also keep a tap on the portion.
Filling food: If you eat more fruits and vegetables, you would end up eating more healthy and filling food, which won’t leave you hungry every now and then.
Take care of the Extras at Functions/Parties: You might have many options for the appetizers, snacks and drinks at a party, they would appear tempting but control yourself and see before you put them in your mouth.
Shopping at A Super Market: Don’t shop for grocery on an empty stomach, make sure you prepare a list and don’t keep ample time in hand. Don’t but large bags (with discounts) if you don’t need them.
