August 19, 2009
If you are suffering from foot injuries during exercise like blister and calluses, you might be wearing the wrong shoes. The right pair of shoes will help you stick to exercise program.
You will have to keep some of the information mentioned below in mind if you want to go shoe shopping next.
Shoe Features
The built of the shoe decides it’s function, comfort and fit. If you know the basic elements of you shoe you wouldn’t have a problem in choosing the right one. Like our shoes feet also have not only different size but also different shapes. To avoid injury you should pay heed to your shape and your requirement.
The Width and the length
A shoe which is extremely narrow or too wide can pose a problem, and can injure your feet. If the shoe you choose doesn’t provide your toes ample breathing space, don’t buy it as you might get injured.
Shoe Arch
The muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments of your feet form many arches. As you put pressure on your feet, these arches distribute the pressure to your body. How well you adapt to the surface you walk on is decided by these arches.
Based on the type of arches you feet can be
Neutral (not overly arched or very flat) arched feet people should choose a semi-curved shoe with strong mid sole.
Flat foot people should choose straight shoes with a cushioned base for reducing stress.
High-arched foot people should look for cushioning to reduce the stress, besides a curved last.
You should stick to comfort and not design especially when you pick up exercise shoes. Keep the following tips in mind while wearing your shoes
Make sure you don’t give your socks a miss.
Shop for your shoes when you have been walking for sometime as you feet won’t be at the largest at that point in time.
Opt for a good brand, and take suggestion from the sales team at the store.
If one of you foot is larger than the other try your shoe on both the feet.
Make sure your shoes are wide enough.
Walk for a few seconds to see if you are actually comfortable.
You shouldn’t use work out shoes which would help you avert injury.
