Symptoms of Weight Gain
Weight gain can happen to anybody. There is no fixed rule that because a person has always remained thin and healthy he/she cannot put on weight.
Fluctuations in weight gain are normal but ignoring it can prove to be dangerous for health. Because when fat slowly starts getting accumulated as a result of lethargy, poor choice of lifestyle and other reasons it can soon become a major concern for health.
What can lead to weight gain?
What leads to gain in weight is fat intake and having no control over calories. What usually starts as one bite later becomes so difficult to control that one loses absolute control over their cravings and calories. There certainly is an exception for those people who have a genetic problem of weight gain. If people do not have genetic weight gain problems then it is only due to excess intake of fat that they start gaining weight. Another very common reason for weight gain is lack of exercise.
People find it very hard to find sufficient time out from their schedule for exercise. Lack of physical activity which mainly arises due to lethargy, looking for easy alternatives and lack of motivation are reasons why people start gaining weight. People who quit smoking are also prone to gaining more weight as their metabolism slows down.
Stopping the consumption of some tablets can also lead to weight gain. Sometimes following a very strict diet plan can also lead to increase in weight gain. That is because when people start to deprive their body of important calories, the brain thinks that the person is starving and as a result the metabolism reduces badly. Sometimes some medical complications can also lead to increase in weight gain. Like people with thyroid and diabetes develop the tendency of gaining weight.
Women taking birth control pills or other medication are also prone to gaining more weight. People suffering from stress and depression can also put on weight as some people tend to over eat to curb their feeling of depression. While dealing with weight gain can be quite a difficult task it is important to remember that if one stays committed to their cause (of losing weight) then sooner or later they will be able to accomplish their objective.
By cutting fat, exercising, following a healthy lifestyle and keeping a healthy and happy mind it is possible for a person to diminish their weight problems. But if weight gain starts only after taking a new medication then it is recommended to visit a doctor as soon as possible.
