These diets don’t have long term effect and leave you de-motivated. To top it all, whatever weight you lose you tend to put on more lately.
Mentioned below are some healthy diet options that you can undertake.
Low-fat diet
If you reduce the intake of highly fatty food you would consume lesser calories and lose weight. At times low fat diets also back fire as people reduce the quantity of fat but consume higher amount of calories. Too many calories even from a low fat diet will make you put on weight.
Low-carbohydrate diet
If you have low carb diet, the insulin in your body will reduce and this would help you burn extra fat in your body. When you start a low carb diet you tend to lose more weight that a low fat diet. This reduction of weight may continue only if you take care of your diet and keep it low in calorie.
This diet is not followed easily compared to other diets and this is the problem with this diet. Research shows that people falling out of the low carbohydrate diet is higher that people who successfully undertake it. Low carb diets like Atkins, Zone and Protein diet though give results is very difficult to maintain.
Glycemic index diet
This diet boosts the effect of carbohydrate rich food, and the effect it has on your blood sugar levels. The theory behind this one is alike to the low-carb diet, as it claims if you reduce blood sugar level, the same would lead to weight loss.
This diet has another similarity with the low carb diet and that is – it is very difficult to follow. The advocates of this diet don’t understand that weight is affected by many other factors than just blood sugar level. South Beach diet is a perfect example of glycemic index diet.
Meal replacement
Meal replacements give less than 400 calorie in one meal and they are high on nutrition. In these diets you replace a meal or two in a day by these meal supplements. The third meal you have should be healthy and should have around 700 calories. Meal replacement should only be had once you have taken an advice from your physician.
Meal provider
Some people because of their busy schedule don’t focus on what they have to eat. For these people readymade meal options are a good option for these kind of people, though these options are expensive.
The Group approach
Losing weight in a group exercising with them and following a similar diet plan, discussing the progress and getting motivated is a difference experience all together.
