Overweight and obesity is a home to many problems and diseases. Excess weight increases fat in our body and these fats clog our arteries and eventually clog arteries leads to strokes and heart attacks.
However, we can prevent this simply by changing our life style, changing our eating habits, adopting healthier food, by getting involved in some sort of physical activities and by reducing weight. Just by doing these few things we can actually eliminate the risk of stokes, heart diseases, diabetes, arthritis, cancer and may other diseases.
To live healthy we have to change our lifestyle, but the funny thing about us is that although we are aware that what we are doing is harmful for us, but it takes the soul of to change our behavior. We tend to get stuck in the rut that altering our lifestyle really gets difficult. Here are a few tips and techniques that will help to get out of the rut and lead a healthier life.
Focus on a small steps: Don’t try to change your lifestyle overnight, it’s a gradual process and needs its own sweet time. If you will try to drastically change your eating habit then you will soon be dissatisfied and will give up shortly. That’s why it is recommended to take small steps at a time.
Here are some examples of small steps: Avoid using mayonnaise in your sandwich, replace white bread with whole wheat bread, drink water instead of soda, take stairs instead of using elevators, add more vegetable and fruits to your diet, etc.
Create diet and exercise plan: It’s very essential to have a diet and exercise plan in place. You should try to chalk out the plan of action for a week, stating what exercise you will do or what will you eat and what will you avoid. Take out time daily to go for a walk or for jog for at least 20-30 minutes.
Visualize what success these changes will bring: Have a mental vision about the success which you will get by these behavioural changes. This will help you in pumping up your motivation level and will also help you to follow your diet and exercise routine.
