Popular Health Foods Those Aren’t Healthy

Do you rely on health foods while you are on a diet? Well after reading this you wouldn’t really be. Mentioned below are just a few diet foods which we love; but these are far from healthy.

Potato Chips (Baked)

They are definitely low in fat vis-à-vis the normal potato chips; but this supposedly healthy food is still extremely high in the number or calories it contains and they are low on the nutrition front. They are extremely low in fibre hence don’t make you feel full easily. You can choose to eat Popcorn instead, which have 65% lesser calories in one serving. Opt for oil free microwave popcorn.

Lighter Ice Cream

Light ice creams have lesser calories, but that cannot be guaranteed. Some diet ice crèmes have around 250+ calories which are higher than the normal version as well. Some version of light ice crèmes lack the taste which you crave for; keeping you unsatisfied; and you end up eating more. You should try ice crèmes which don’t contain dairy product, made of coconut or soy milk. These are creamy and have far lesser calories.

No-fat Salad Dressings

Fat-free or no fat salad dressings can be often packed with high amount of sugar and hence are full of calories. Sarcastically, salads are supposed to be healthy with no fat. You should choose oil-based dressings. This would give you better unsaturated fats instead of unhealthy ones present in crème based dressings. Make sure the option you choose is made of vinegar, olive oil, or herbs.

Low-Fat Cookies

Many dieters indulge in low fat cookies and think they aren’t doing anything wrong. Most cookies are made of high amount of sugar, this makes them loaded with calories and they are as unhealthy as normal cookies if not filled with more fat. You can choose to have oat cookies, by having these you can fulfil your cravings and get the benefit of whole grain. Skip oat cookies which have high amount of fructose, white/refined flour, butter etc.
