We all tend to aim for weight loss, but most of our efforts are short lived, what we should aim for a permanent solution and make sure losing weight is for life and not a temporary thing. You need to have an all-inclusive and comprehensive diet plan.

Mentioned below are some tips which would not only help you lose weight but would also help you in remaining slim and healthy.

Are you ready? Make sure you are ready for permanent weight loss and make sure you are ready to make a lifelong commitment. Assess the reasons why you want to lose weight.

Setting the right goals: Decide not only how much weight you want to lose and over how many weeks you want to do so (make sure you make realistic goals). Decide on a long term goal and be sure you break it up into smaller achievable goals. Know your BMI, see what you perfect weight range is and then make a decision. Once this is set, you need to work out the number of calories you need to cut down on daily basis. Your goals should be specific, realistic and measurable.

Track your progress: By keeping track of your achievements, you can decide whether you are on the right path, if you are losing the desired amount of weight, it would be the biggest motivation factor for you. Maintain a food diary and track your progress on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

Become a Smart Eater: Healthy eating is not skipping an entire food group but eating everything in moderation. If you don’t want to get into the statistics and calculations just divide your plate into half veggies, ¼ lean protein and ¼ whole grains.

Committed and Determined to Exercise: When you combine a healthy diet with exercise you weight loss routine will bear better fruits and show faster results. You should focus on both active lifestyle and programmed activity exercise. It won’t take much time to get into a habit of exercise. Make sure you incorporate both cardio and weight training in your exercise regime.

Support: Tell about your plans to your friends, colleagues, family, and peer group. This way they will help you maintain focus and they don’t let you divert from your goal.
