People Who Are Prone To Gaining More Weight

Weight gain is not always a matter of genetics. It is a culmination of various things. Sometimes even a person’s behavioral traits help in determining whether they are prone to gaining more or less weight.

This holds for quite an interesting study as it enlightens people on how to deal with weight related problems depending upon the character traits of the affected person. Most weight related problems are not always connected with eating disorders, lack of exercise or poor lifestyle.

Some weight related problems are interconnected with how a person emotionally reacts on seeing food or on their capacity to control cravings. All this determines the nature or behavior of the person. For instance, it is said that children who are impulsive in nature are prone to gaining weight faster than others. That is because these children find it hard to control their gratification and simply cannot say no to food. They do not possess the ability to distinguish between healthy and junk food.

If this problem is tackled correctly at the right time and at the right age then such children can be protected from turning into obese kids. One of the best ways of tackling this is by delaying the pleasure or satisfaction felt on seeing good food by seeking the help of a therapist. As he/she in turn will develop tactics that will help such children learn to say no to food when required. Not only impulsive but even children who lack self-control are prone to gaining more weight when compared to others.

Therefore, it is important for parents to gauge the problem early and seek help from a good consultant who will be able to help children recover from this problem. It is also believed that men and women who are more aggressive are more prone to gaining weight.  That is because increased hostility is closely related with the Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI is nothing but the ratio of height to weight which determines if the weight of the person is normal or not. And it is also believed that with time hostility in men increases. People under immense stress are also believed to gain more weight.

It is important to determine the correct cause of weight gain. Most of us refuse to believe that a person’s character traits can have an impact on weight gain. But the above points state clearly that behavioral characteristics play a significant role in determining whether a person is prone to gaining more weight or not.
