Obsession with Weight Loss
Do your discussions with people around you only deal with weight loss and issues related to health, do you check the nutritional content of every single thing you pick up, and are you only thinking about the number of calories you have consumed in every bite.
Is your only purpose of living weight loss? This shows that you are obsessed with weight loss. This comment might seem defensive at first, but haven’t many people told you about this obsession of yours. You might feel angry and pissed off with this comment. Once you cool down and think of the comment you might feel that it is valid to a certain extent.
It is completely fair and understandable that you manage your diet and note everything you eat. Counting calories becomes a part of weight loss and for those who have successfully managed to lose weight this becomes all the more important as you don’t want to gain the lost pounds back on your body.
People don’t realize that weight loss program isn’t kid’s play and you have to check yourself on every step, for them it might be an obsession but for you it is a necessity. Have you seen horses wear blinders so that all they see is the track and don’t lose focus?
Same is the case with people who want to lose weight, frankly if this obsession is lacking they don’t stand a high chance to lose weight. For dieters, planning your meals, counting every calorie, exercising works like blinders which help you focus. Weight loss obsession actually helps dieters to stay on track.
It is extremely important to know that this obsession at times becomes unhealthy which isn’t good for anyone. People who suffer from unhealthy weight loss obsession, force themselves to lose weight by means that are extremely unhealthy like starvation, extreme exercises, gulping diet pills, etc. These methods of unhealthy weight loss lead to lowering the confidence level and developing a poor image of the body.
