Myth About Teen Weight Loss

Teens are likely to be of same weight as their parents are: It’s true that are body type and weight are somewhere connected to genetic components. But it’s not that teens cannot lose weight, there are many success stories where teens who have overweight parent and yet they lost weight to be fit.

In fact, according to many research and studies teens that have obese parent are more motivated to lose weight. There are innumerable teen weight loss success stories where they used obese family member as the motivation and encouragement to get healthy regardless of their generic blue print.

Teens who didn’t succeed at losing weight earlier will fail again: This is not true! Any past failure has no connection with the fresh attempt. In fact one can learn from their own mistake that they did in past. Introspect what went wrong last time and what are the other reasons that hindered your weight loss program. Avoid the mistakes that you did in past and take a fresh perspective and you will lose weight.

Teens that have been overweight in past stand little or no chance of losing weight: Countless number of teens who are obese today was chubby as kid, but they have lost several pounds and found all together a new body. It doesn’t mater what and how much you weight in the past. Your future health is important and it is in your hand. So stop worrying that you were overweight in past and you will not be able to lose weight. Work hard and be determined to lose weight.

Teens who are to serious and determined about weight loss are likely to suffer from disorders such as bulimia and anorexia: Many parent and elders are actually scared of helping teen in losing weight as they think that teens are likely to become obsessed with the weight loss and calories counting and this can even lead to disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. These concerns are totally justifiable and even many research and studies support this. Only just 5-6% of teens suffer from eating disorder.

On the other hand almost 33% of America teens are overweight or obsessed. Teens should be introduced to healthy eating plan and work out session so that they can lose weight and live a healthier life.
