Dieting brings negative connotations to our mind. Nobody wants to diet, but unfortunately for many of us it’s a part and parcel of life. We are living in a fast paced life and in a world of junk food, packaged food, and fast food.
Most of us are more or less aware about diet and healthy living but very few of us actually like our healthy diet. The more you like your diet, more successful you would be in shedding extra pounds and in living a healthier life. Dieting is more of a metal strategy that physical one.
You need to be strong enough to avoid and pass the temptation of your favourite and tempting food. Most of the diets focus on your behaviour, but these strategies will help you in the mental department, where the battle can be lost or win.
One the most important strategy is “weekday diet”. In this particular diet you need to eat healthy during the weekdays and in weekend you are fee to have you choice of food. This doesn’t mean that you will hog on high calories foods. You need to be prudent enough to choose your food during the weekend.
If you want to have dessert, then have a smaller portion. Similarly, if you are crazy about fries then order smaller portion. This way you will have you favourite food in the weekend without exceeding the weekly quota of calories.
Many people who have undertake this diet get so motivated that they prefer to have healthy food during the weekends.
Another similar and important strategy is by thinking eating habits as a percentage. It is like you decide that you will have 80% of healthy, low calorie and low fat food. This will help you in avoiding unhealthy and fatty food. Once you will get accustomed with your new routine then it won’t be difficult to have 100% of healthy food. You won’t have to push yourself hard to like your diet.
Another strategy is to figure out what motivates you. Suppose you love the fact that vegetables are anti-ageing, focus on the fact that how good you are being to your body by providing it with foods that mainly consists vegetables. Similarly, we you drink water focus on the fact that it will help you in flushing out the toxins from your body and also keeps you hydrated. This strategy will help you to like and follow your diet.
