Men’s Nutritional Needs Vs Women’s Nutritional Needs

Men and women are different physically so, the nutritional needs of both are also different from each other. Women like to be slim down and obsessed with dieting but the men’s needs in nutrition are different. The health ailments are different as men can get prostate cancer but women can’t have the disease. If they both are different in health ailments thus, the diet and nutrition’s’ quantity should also be different. Following are some nutritional facts that show how the attitudes are different.

Fiber Rich Foods

Men: Men need more fiber as compared to women. Fiber acts as a protector and saves the body from cancer. Also, men needs more calories so, they need more fiber in food. Men, who are under 50, needed 38 gm of fiber and who are over 50 needs 30 gm of fiber in food.

Women: Fiber helps to lessen the risk of some chronic diseases like breast cancer. It also controls the cholesterol level of body. Daily intake of fiber for women, under 50 is 25 gm but those who are over 50, needed 20-21 gm of fiber.

Proteins

Men: Men need more protein compared to women. It is because the man has more weight. Protein accelerates calcium loss in urine. That is the reason men having kidney stones, should watch the protein intake. The intake of protein should be 0.8 g as per kg of body weight.

Women: Protein is an energy provider. It is an essential element for growth and repair. Women, who are at high risk of osteoporosis, should intake less protein. The intake of protein should be 0.8 g as per kg of body weight.

Iron

Men: Man needs iron in good amount but it should not be much. Men who intake high amount of iron have high risk of heart attacks. The intake of 8mg of iron is essential for men.

Women:
Woman needs more iron as compare to man and the reason is menstrual periods. Woman, who feels difficulty in breathing, should not take iron. Women under 50 should take 18mg of iron per day.
