Injury Proof Workout

You can’t rule out the importance of working out if you want to maintain a healthy life. Working out can help you stay away from risk of cardiac attacks, blood pressure problems, diabetes and even cancer.

It works wonders on bringing depression as well as anxiety down. The problem arises when you experience an injury during working out. Fortunately, if you take some precautions, you will be able to improve your ability to collect the benefits of workout without the injuries.

It is mandatory to consult the physician before initiating a workout regime. You need to consult your doctor in detail if you are above 40 years of age, been inactive for around 2 years or more,  have a family history of heart disease before 55 years of age, you have overweight problems and have been prone to health release associated with it, you have chest pain when you exert your heart, you smoke, you are on medication and are under doctor’s observation.

Ease your way into it: If you are over enthusiastic about your workout you tend to push yourself too hard. You shouldn’t do it, make sure you remember slow and steady wins the race. Increase the time of workout and intensity levels by not more than 10% a week.

Warming up and cooling down: It is very important to warm yourself up before your exercise and cool your body down by stretching post the workout. This would bring down the risk of strain, sprain and any kind of soreness.

Listen to what your body says: Muscle becoming sore is very common when you initiate a new workout routine or post a high intensity workout. This means your body is taking a little time to get used to the exercise. However, if your body pains during the exercise sessions, you should consult your doctor.

Variety in your workout: Play with exercise intensity. Don’t do high intensity workouts regularly on two consecutive days. Take a day off from exercise a week. Don’t do weight training the same muscle groups on consecutive days. Make sure your posture is correct whenever you are working out.
