How to Build Muscle Mass

There are various reasons that a person with an average body-build is not able to increase his muscles. It is often because of the blind imitation while trying to increase the muscle mass.

Avoid imitation as everyone has a different body built and accordingly the exercise routine is different. Here is how you can do it.

The first thing to do is to increase your strength levels. To increase the strength, you can start with weights. First work out with an empty war and then keep on increasing the weights. It will increase your power. Also do pushups and sit ups. It will increase your strength.

Secondly start using free weights. More heavier is the weight; more is the muscle that you will have. You can use the barbells, also use the dumbbells. It’s better to use free weights than machines. It has been observed that the strength which comes by exercising on the machines does not really transfer to real life situation. So it is better to use the free weights rather than machines.

Squats exercise the whole body. It gives a lot of strength to the legs. When you do squats, the whole body works and therefore you build strength. Next is to do the workouts for the whole body.

After doing these exercises, you need to rest as well. Its called the recovery phase. Most of the professional athletes do the exercises 6 days a week. But you do not need to imitate them. To start with it is fine if you just do it for three days a week.

Moreover the intensity of the work outs is more important than the hours. It is important to take rest because the muscles grow during the rest period. We also tend to dehydrate much quickly when doing exercises, so it is important that we drink water to compensate for the lost water. Take plenty of water. Also important is to have a sound sleep.

Proper diet plan is also necessary. Stop eating fast food. Eat Meat, Poultry, eggs and fish. These are important for the proteins. For carbohydrates you can have rice, pasta, oats etc. Eat a lot of vegetables as they have many important components.

Eat fresh fruits. It is also important to increase the frequency of the food as well as the quality of the food, when you work out and build mass you need more food. You must have your breakfast then you must eat every three hours.

Apart from this eat calorie rich food, also take milk regularly. These are important to increase the muscles. Otherwise you will look skinny with your muscles.

Persistence is the key to success for anything in life. It applies in this case as well.
