Healthy Changes in Your Kitchen

People who are on a tryst of lose weight often try everything they can and take all advise possible, but one thing that they forget is that a weight loss program needs a  healthy kitchen as well. If your kitchen cabinets are stocked up with canned products, cake mix, frosting, choco dips, crackers, chips, pastas etc.

I’m sorry to inform you that you will have to struggle a lot to lose weight. If your kitchen isn’t healthy it might sabotage all your weight loss efforts. Mentioned below are some tips using which you can change your kitchen into a health den, this would help you keep on track with your weight loss.

Take Smaller Dishes – Make sure you pack away all huge plates and bowls that you have been eating in; no I’m not suggesting going and buying a brand new dinner set, instead you can use salad plates and keep the dinner plates away. When we eat in large plates we unknowingly eat more than required. Even when it comes to beverages, besides water choose smaller glasses.

Give Away Unhealthy Food – Give away all the unhealthy food that is stocked up in your cabinet. If there are family members who want the crackers and chocolate dips to be kept, make sure you have your own small diet cabinet without any trace of unhealthy food in it.

Add Spices –Diet food necessarily isn’t bland as is the common belief. Spices and herbs are a blessing to us whether you are dieting or not. Spicy food also helps rise metabolism and burn extra calories. Make sure you invest in garlic powder, basil, cumin, pepper, ginger, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, oregano or red pepper flake.

Important Items should be close to you – When you are setting up the kitchen make sure you keep healthy and important items at a place which is easily accessible. This will help you use that specific item more often.

Color your kitchen to lose weightIt is a fact that some colours like red and orange stimulate hunger and make you eat more. Make sure you don’t use these colours for your kitchen at least; the colours that are recommended are pastel shades of blue and green.

Keep Healthy Food Handy –Make sure when you go grocery shopping you buy loads of healthy stuff for your kitchen like brown rice, lentils, canned beans, nuts, can tomatoes, dried fruits, whole wheat pastas, oats, spices and herbs; which can be easily stored and used to prepare a healthy meal. You should buy loads of fruits, vegetables, lean meat, olive oil, etc.
