Getting the Most of Your Workout
If you have your basics right when working out, you will be more successful. Mentioned below are some small changes that you can bring in your exercise regime and you would definitely yield bigger and better results.
You will get a better perspective to your workout if you correct your alignment or alter your speed, etc.
Walking
When you walk (which you do all day round) make sure you lift your foot first and your toes in the end. This would make your simple walking turn into a power walk which will exercise your shins as well.
Running
When you run, make sure you take long strides which would increase your speed and be good for your entire body. It would be better that when you take frequent steps which might leave you exhausted. The stride you choose should be light on the feet and should let you cover the distance faster. Make sure you try different strides before you get to your actual stride.
Weight Training
Maintain the right posture and don’t slouch while weight training. This would make your exercise more effective and less prone to injury. Make sure you tuck the hips a little forward and pull your lower abs.
Spinning
Make sure you adjust your seat low. Make sure your adjust the handles and seat before starting off.
Exercise Balls
Use your core muscle when you use an exercise ball to maintain a good balance. Working out on these balls makes your workout more challenging and effective; till we have our position right. Make sure you remain steady and place your feet well on the ground and you abs tight. Be sure you sit in the centre of the ball.
Stair-Climb
When you use a stair climb machine you stand straight, as it might strain your back. Make sure your hands rest by your side and the hold on the handle is not very tight.
Swimming
You should give your body a good push when you swim. As this will engage the thighs, hamstrings, quads, abs and glutes. While you swim your feet should be flat against wall and weight on the heels, keep your knees bent and push hard from your toes. Make sure you arms remain straight over the head and they should be close to the ears, this will help your body remain streamlined.
