The weighing scale is probably one of the worst inventions by mankind. Some people are just obsessed with the number gained and lost. There are many dieters who weight themselves many times in a day; many are so obsessed that they weigh themselves many times in an hour.

That’s why dieters are strongly encouraged to get rid of the weighing scale. Worst part of the scale is that it misrepresents and distorts the actual progress. Dieters need to understand that body weight fluctuates during the day and it depends on lots of factors. On an average our body weight fluctuate 2-4lbs in a day. Gain muscles to look thinner

Now say you want to shed extra 10-12 pounds. Instead of focusing on losing these 10-12 pounds you should be more focused towards your body composition by reducing the body fat percentage and by increasing lean body mass percentage. To do so you have to start having a healthier diet.

Healthy diet will help you to restrict excess intake of calories and will also help in cutting body fat. Then you should engage yourself in cardio workout, this will again help you to lose more body fat. Body fat occupies huge amount of body area, and once you will lose it you will automatically look thinner and fit.

To complete your body transformation, you have to incorporate strength training in your daily activities. Strength training will help you to develop and gain more muscles. Muscles are heavier than fat, and the case may be you can start gaining some weight. Muscles occupies less area than fat, hence you will look healthier and leaner.

So remember, if you are eating healthy and doing strength training, possibility is that you may gain some pounds but for sure you will look leaner in the process as you are shifting your body composition.
