Starvation hampers metabolism: Many people think that if they reduce the food intake drastically they will reduce weight faster. On the contrary, the fact is if you reduce your calorie intake to a large extent then you will hamper your metabolic rate. It will get slow and accordingly the fat burning process will also dip. Your body will start storing calories and fat for sustaining itself.
Muscles also have weight: Don’t get disappointed if your weight scale is not showing the desired result. You may be having healthy diet and exercising regularly and still your weight is not reducing then there is nothing to get alarmed and disappointed. Probably you are losing fat and gaining muscles. Muscles do have weight and occupy more area than fat. Muscles make you look lean where as fat make you look pulpy.
Losing two pounds in a week is not great: when we undertake any weight loss program, may be it dieting or physical activities, in initial weeks the weight loss is rapid say around 4-5 lbs per week. But as you move ahead the weight loss reduces to 2 lbs per week. If this is happening with you then don’t be disappointed and frustrated. If you can consult any doctor or weight loss expert than they can tell you that losing 2 lbs per week is good enough as well as healthy.
Exercise will help in weight loss: Many of us generally tend to alter our diet plan to achieve the set weight loss target. Well the fact is, your diet should be complimented by regular exercise regimen. Exercise will help you to gain more muscles, which in turn help you in burning more calories and eventually faster and effective weight loss.
Water helps in curbing appetite: Many people think that they are hungry and they need to eat, whereas actually they are dehydrated. Next time if you feel hungry then instead of rushing to the snacks cabinet, try to have 6-8 ounces of water. This will help you in curbing you appetite by make you feel full and will also keep you away from dehydration. Our body tends to hold water due to dehydration and we weigh 4-6 pounds more. If you will drink sufficient amount of water then you can at least lose the retained water weight.
