Family Fitness Tips
Health has become such an important aspect of life today that it is not just fitness for self but also family fitness that has become critical in today’s day and age. What comes as a relief is that you just need a little amount of creativity; and you can make fitness a family affair.
If you make fitness an integral aspect of your family, remaining fit wouldn’t be a chore for your kids or partner. Everyone would in fact look forward to exercise daily. The numbers of workouts you can incorporate and bring fitness in your family are numerous. You should make sure that the workout you choose is enjoyed by everyone in the family; you should also try to schedule your fitness plan to suit your daily schedule. You can practice things like swimming, biking in a park, hiking, horse riding, dancing, bowling, tennis, badminton, skating etc.
The age of kids should also be considered when choosing a fitness program, for infants you can choose motor development. For toddlers you can try 30 minutes of planned and an hour of unplanned workout. For preschool kids you should try 60 minutes each of planned and unplanned activity. Your school going children should get around 2 hours or more of physical activities don’t plan any intense workout and break these into 15 minutes mini workout.
It would be easy for you if you enroll your kids in any sport activity like squash, tennis, etc. This also simply helps in making them stick to workout schedule and make them more regular. You can try other children (of your kid’s age) from your neighborhood to join in with your kid.
If watching television is your favourite time pass, you can use commercial breaks in fitness breaks. You can do jumping jacks, squats, lunges and use the 5 minutes break healthily. Try going for walk before or after dinner.
