Exercise For The Obese

We have seen obese people around the globe who are obese, desperately try to lose weight. They know that losing weight comes from a healthy diet and fitness regime.

They are also ready to give in all that is required to lose weight. The problem is that the exercise and fitness regimes are quite difficult to follow and it becomes all the more difficult for obese people.

Exercises meant for obese should minimize stress on the joints, riskily high heart rate, and grave strain on tendon, ligament and muscle, as obese people are more prone to injury.

Suitable workout for obese people can be found. It is extremely important to consult your doctor and start slow when it comes to workout.

Exercise #1 – Taking a Walk:

Walking has a tendency of being quite painful for someone who is very obese; still it is the most simple and extremely customizable workout. Start it slow and gradually build up your exercise. You can walk up to your driveway, to the mall; take your dog for a stroll. You can slowly build up your stamina and start walking for long distance and longer time.

Exercise #2 – Aqua Aerobics or Swimming

If you can go to a pool, try swimming or aqua aerobics. This would be an excellent way to tone your muscles and burn calories; this won’t even stress your joints. Water tends to support the body weight and the impact is less. If aerobics and swimming are strenuous, you can try to hang on the pool’s side as you kick your legs in water, you can also choose to stand in the shallow pool pushing the arms against water resistance.

Exercise #3 – Exercise for Senior or Handicap

People who are extremely obese at times face similar mobility problems as are faced by elderly or handicapped people. This is the case where obesity is morbid or intense. You can opt for many exercises while sitting on the chair or even while lying on the bed. Arm and leg raises are an excellent way to begin.

Obese exercises need to aim at lessening stress on your joints, ligaments and muscles. It should initiate gradually and slowly move up while maintaining a safe heart rate.
