Exercise and Low Carbohydrate Diet

Many dietitians prefer and recommend low carbohydrate diet and aerobic exercise as the ideal combination to lose extra pounds. Some people believe that both low carbohydrate and exercise have the potential to lose weight faster, provided if it’s done together.

But actually it’s bit difficult to balance the two i.e. exercising and low carbohydrate diets. Carbohydrate is required as it yields energy and energy is required to exercise. There are ways to avoid this problem. That mean you may not be able to take maximum advantage of exercise due to the depletion of carbohydrates.

Weight loss through exercise:

When we exercise, we burn calories. The harder we workout, the more calories we burn. During exercise, our body burn carbohydrate to produce energy and that energy is used in exercise. If there are lesser calories in our system, our body tends to burn the stored fat cells to fuel up the energy level. The aim of combining the two will help us to burn up large number of stored fat in a shorter time. However, there is a limitation – the lack of carbohydrates can lead to instant fatigue after work out.

Balancing exercise and low carbohydrate diet:

When you are not having enough carbohydrate, you will notice that your ability to undertake exercise gets difficult. Again, lack of carbohydrates leads to burning of fat for fuel, which is not very efficient. Lack of energy means that you will you would not be able to do exercise for a longer period of time nor can you perform high intensity workout. This indicates that you need to cut down the intensity of your exercise.

Calorie Content is Key:

If you more than you can actually use, you will end up in producing more than and weight gain. If you burn the calories that you took, your weight will remain same. Similarly, if you burn more calories than what took through high intensity exercise or lengthy exercise, you will witness weight loss. This is how our body actually works. This is true whether you are having protein, carbohydrate, or fat. In other words, it doesn’t matter where the carbohydrate are derived from they are employed by the body in similar manner. So, getting down to low carbohydrate diet may not be entirely necessary.
