Emotional Eating– Way to Obesity
What is preventing you from not getting back into shape? Look at your activities. It may be because that you cannot stop eating. This is also termed as ‘emotional eating.’
This is one of the major causes that why you are not able to lose weight despite the other activities which you carry out for weight reduction. So how to stop this eating pattern?
We often relate eating to hunger. But it is not so. Most often we eat because we are ‘attracted’ towards eating. It is not related to the stomach but it is in your mind. Do you eat to divert attention from the major problems in your life you are facing? It may be so.
You may be using eating as a protective shield against various problems you have in life. Don’t do this, in this way you will just keep on increasing your bulk.
Anybody who is obese looks for making permanent changes in the body; he does not want it for a short duration. What is important is that you have to concentrate on why you eat.
If you know that why you eat, you will understand the root of the problem and instead of eating, you will have some other mechanisms developed in your mind which will help you fight the life problems you are facing.
Weight gain is also a lifestyle problem. Many of us indulge in social eating where we do not care about what we are eating and how much we are eating. We go to various social functions and tend to eat anything and everything there.
Also we are not able to cope up with the temptations in form of advertisements of various restaurants brands. You see the persuasive advertisement of McDonalds and the very next day you are sitting in one of their restaurants. So here we need to learn from being seduced to these tempting advertisements.
Also there is a culture developing of eating for taste rather than for health. We tend to avoid the green vegetables because we do not find them tasty or trendy and eat tons of fast food.
So we need to watch ourselves if we really care to get away from obesity.
