Eat Raw Foods and Lose Weight
There are several versions of raw food based diet that are easily available on the internet and health magazines. Typically, these diets are plant-food based; and raw food makes almost 75% of the diet.
Raw food may contain enzymes that are supposed to be removed in the process of cooking it. As indicated, Raw Food diet is typically a plant-food based diet, it is made up of nuts, fruits, seeds, vegetables, dried fruits, juices, herbs and spices, flaked grains, sprouted seeds, and grains.
However, many dieters also include poultry and fish, legumes, and cookies to add variety to the diet. Many people who generally undertake this diet are vegetarian and it’s easier for them to stay away from any animal products. If you are non-vegetarian and want to take up this diet then it’s recommended that you gradually decrease flesh intake as this will help you to stick with this diet.
Raw Food and Weight Loss
Raw Food diet is different from usual western diet, as this diet restricts the intake of carbs and calories which helps in weight loss. It is difficult to overeat on a diet owing high fibre and water content, another reason why this diet promotes weight loss.
Many dieters have also commented about the low protein content in this diet. Well, if you will eat appropriate levels of seeds, nuts, and legumes then you can derive sufficient amount of protein from these foods.
Raw Food diet is a good and healthy diet, but difficult to sustain. It’s actually not easy to eat raw food throughout the day. If you want to undertake this diet then it’s recommended that you should be mentally prepared and fit to take it up.
Typical Meal Plan
Breakfast: Have wheat germ, pumpkin seeds, and fresh fruit with fresh almonds. You can also have sheep’s milk yogurt and coconut cream.
Lunch: In lunch, you can eat salad of various leaves, yellow capsicum, tomatoes, onions, and parsley with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. You can also include sprouted lentils in your lunch.
Dinner: Have mixed vegetable soup, raspberry, banana sorbet, and sunflower seed cheese.
Drinks: When it comes to drink, then have water, fruit smoothies, fruit and vegetable juices, and coconut milk. Avoid soda-based drink and alcohol.
