Does Calcium Helps In Weight Loss
Many dieters ponder over the question that does calcium helps in weight loss. Well there are two schools of thought when it comes to calcium and its relation to weight loss. One sect of people believes that calcium aid in weight loss, where as another sect believes that calcium has not effect on weight loss.
However, many recent researches and studies have found that calcium and weight are inversely related. Yes! It has been found that calcium helps in losing weight. We all are aware of the fact that calcium is good for our bones, but this new concept of weight loss with the help of calcium excites many dieters.
Now, the next important question is how does calcium helps in weight loss. Well, Calcium can actually alter or modify the fat cell’s metabolism, which leads to storing of lesser fat and burning of more fat than usual. This fact is base on the experiment that has been done on rats and mice over ten years and hence it was concluded that calcium intake is related to weight of the body.
Calcium and metabolism are inversely related. This means that if the calcium intake is less then our metabolism rate decreases, which leads to less burning of fat. On the other hand, abundant intake of calcium increases our metabolic rate and our body tends to burn fat faster and hence fast, natural and effective weight loss.
Another weight loss factor associated with calcium is that it helps in reducing hunger pangs and craving. It has been proved that a blend of Vitamin C, magnesium, potassium and high calcium helps in reducing craving.
An average American consumes about 600-700 mg of calcium daily. While, there are many people who consume less than the prescribed amount. Hence, in order to increase calcium consumption you can eat yogurt, butter and raw cheese. Fish such as sardines and salmon are another rich source of calcium.
