How this can be helpful is that your body quickly adapts to this and starts using is energy reserves for fuel, which in turn causes immediate weight loss. This weight loss will help you fit into any dress you want for the event and look amazing.
It is also good for those who just cannot stick to a regular weight loss regime. So rather they decide to drop a few pounds very fast and then rest for a while and then repeat it again. It also helps people gain an idea of what they could and would like it would they lose weight consistently.
The negative and risks of crash dieting; however are many. First of all majority of the weight you lose through this is that of your muscle mass. This is because muscle cells have more mass and energy in them than fat cells.
This leaves your body weaker and less energetic. Not to mention that if you have a hectic lifestyle then crash dieting will only make things worse because you may fall sick.
It can cause nutritional deficiency of vitamin B12, which can be very serious. In addition to that mental problems like anorexia and bulimia. You might even find yourself sad or depressed due to hunger.
Crash dieting is a very serious issue that you must carefully think about before going through with. There are many health implications involved, and while it may provide the short term benefits of weight loss, they will not be permanent. So do not make crash dieting a habit; however when in desperate need you can benefit from it.
