Couch Workout

Exercise on the couch, well when couch potato is associate with the sofa how can we stay healthy with it? Right? Wrong . We all love to sit on the couch and watch television, but we can’t associate exercise with it.

It is time to do some multitasking. You can follow some exciting and fun dance moves while watching television.

Take Advantages of the Commercials: Get off the couch during commercials and do some dance movements every break. During commercial in your favourite soap switch to a music channel and show those moves. In a half an hour program at least there are 7-10 minutes of commercial, this way 90 minutes of television can give you around 30 minutes of workout.

The word play: Take a common phrase or word that people regularly say like “Hi” or “it”, every time anyone in the television speaks that word all you need to do if stand and twist your hip. When you do it, make sure your abdominal is tight and your hips are tightened and squeeze; hold for few seconds and release.

Pick your genre: Have an all night Television viewing planned. Choose a dance movement that matches with the kind of shows you see. If you plan to watch comedy, choose a funny and silly move, do that every time the laugh track starts in the show. If your choice is drama, skip or hop each time a someone in the serial cries or breaks down. Don’t forget to dance during the intro and credits of each show.

Gesture of the Character: If you have a favourite show and have a personal favourite character in the show, make him/her your central point. Whenever the character smiles or cracks a joke or does something quirky/out of the blue dance and jump around the room. Master the move and then choose another movement for the serious gesture of the actor.

Taped Exercise: Go shopping and get an enjoyable, motivational and cheerful workout video which teaches your something new and exciting like belly dancing, tango or salsa. Dance and master the moves only for 20 minutes during the day, this way you will learn some new, fun and healthy movements.
