Break These Unhealthy Habits

Snack Addict: If you can’t stay away from them, make your snacks work for you. Eat healthy energy bars so that you remain energetic throughout the day. Instead of choosing cookies; go for healthy salads, sandwiches, nuts etc. Make limits for yourself on the food you wouldn’t eat.

Emotional Eater: Have you observed there are several non-food mood boosters available but eating is the easiest option. You can talk to a friend, watch a movie, dance, walk, listen to music, etc. If eating has become mandatory to better your mood, choose a healthy option.

Weekend Binge: When you go eating on a weekend opt for mini meal before you step out of your house as this would make you feel a little full. Make sure you don’t go on crash diet on the weekdays which would make you eat all the more over the weekend.

Ready to Eat Food: If you can’t afford to cook, don’t feel guilty, become wise and choose what you eat smartly. Read the labels right before you pick your next can. There are many low calorie and lean items available over the counter; you have to be smart enough to choose the right stuff. If you are confused compare the labels and choose the healthiest option, which are nutritious, high in fibre, low in calorie, sodium and fat. You can mix your ready to eat food with some fresh healthy salad or a some yogurt.

Eat on the go: If you are too tied up with work make sure you make a schedule for your meals also in your daily calendar. If you don’t have time to do that keep a lot of handy and healthy snacks in your laptop bag, purse or your car.

Fast Eater: You will have to try and slow down, don’t eat a lot of finger food; eat from the plate instead. Make sure you pause when you eat and drink enough water.

Skipping Breakfast: Your breakfast should be around 250-350 calories and should be mandatory. You should have whole grains, some protein, and a fruit. If you are running short of time, make sure you carry a healthy bar or some fruits along.

Have a Sweet Tooth: The good news is you don’t need to abandon sugar, all you have to find are some good substitutes. Try and purchase unsweetened beverages and mix sugar on your own.
