Anorexia and Bulimia

Anorexia and Bulimia are two very dangerous forms of ailments that are related to weight gain. Both are two very serious forms of eating disorders and both are caused because in both cases the people suffering think that they are obese and hence need to lose a lot of weight.

Anorexia refers to a state of condition where a person completely stops eating and starts to starve themselves because of the fear of being overweight. Most anorexics suffer from the misconception that they are obese and hence need to get slimmer and thinner. Bulimia on the other hand is the opposite of anorexia. Bulimia refers to a medical condition where people eat large meals and then puke the entire thing out of their body to stay slim.

These two forms of ailments are related to weight gain because these ailments are caused from the belief in people’s mind that they are overweight and need to drastically reduce their calories. Both anorexia and bulimia can cause the body to suffer from other multiple types of diseases. Some of the ailments that people suffering from anorexia and bulimia are prone to face are kidney and heart problems, vomiting sensation, extreme fatigue etc .

People get so hyper about their weight gain that they use laxatives and other pills to lose weight. Such is the fear of putting on weight in their mind that they are ready to go any extra mile to shed those excessive calories and look slim. Both these conditions require immediate consultation from good doctor.

It is also vital to determine the root cause of the problem at the right time in order to provide the affected person with relief. Both anorexia and bulimia have a very powerful impact on the person’s mind. Hence it is important that such cases be not ignored and dealt with strongly so that the person suffering can recover fast and well.
