We all know that our ideal weight besides many factors also depends on our height, maintaining a balance between your height and weight is very difficult especially when you get old and the muscle mass and metabolism decreases.
Healthy diet and exercise is very important, alternatives like acupuncture are also available. The question is how effective this can be?

Studies have shown that people who used acupuncture to lose weight shown high reduction in their body weight, especially if you see it in comparison with other treatments like placebo and sham. The later serves as an add-on to placebo, it is quite similar to acupuncture but it doesn’t use needles.
How does acupuncture and weight loss work?
As mentioned above though studies have shown that there is a positive relationship between weight loss and acupuncture, how much weight loss it promotes and the actual mechanism are not very clear. One thing that we can say in favour of acupuncture is that it reduces stress levels which obviously it tackles emotional eating and aids in weight loss. The various researches and studies done on the relation of acupuncture and weight loss says that we need to conduct more research and analysis on this topic, to find out the reason for weight loss post an acupuncture treatment. There are many unanswered questions on this topic which still need to be dealt with. Hence it is extremely important to conduct more trials before we come to a concrete answer.
What is the bottom line?
Weight loss involves no magic solution to your problems. Acupuncture undoubtedly promotes weight loss and makes you show more possibility to lose weight. It isn’t safe to completely rely on acupuncture to lose weight; it might give you an extra push but shouldn’t be taken as the only key to losing weight. Till more concrete and tested evidence is available we should try and stick to our tried and tested way to lose weight.
