Few myths that are widely spread over the media and their facts are listed below:
You should only do aerobics to burn fats: False, In fact you should involved yourself in both aerobics and anaerobic exercises to burn fat faster and to stay fit and healthy. You have to balance them out to make your exercise regimen effective.
To get in shape you have hit a gym: Well, the gyms would love it to be true, but the fact is it’s not necessary to go to gym to get in shape. Any type of exercise and physicals activities is good enough to get you in shape. You just need to figure out the gym based on your lifestyle. If you love swimming, then swim daily and you will get in shape. Give up your car and go to your office by riding a bike, this will also help you to get in shape. So the bottom line is any kind of physical activities can help you to get in shape.
You have to stain your muscles: False and very unhealthy. You don’t have to strain your muscles at all. In fact the exercise you do should not cause any pain to you. It’s normal to get muscle sores when you start doing new type of workouts or when you are new to exercising. If you will overdo any exercise then it can cause muscle pain and can put strain to your muscles. You should not over do any exercise as this may harm your muscles.
Working out make you hungry: False. On the contrary exercise reduces your appetite and eventually you end up eating less food. Exercise helps you in selecting what you should eat and when you should need. So there is no connection between exercise and hungry. In fact it is recommend to eat a bit more if you are involved on intensive workout so that the food can support your calorie requirements.
You can get flat abs only with the help of abs crunches: Would not that be nice that you do 300 crunches every day and get six packs abs. But that’s not the way. You have to lose fat from your body to get a flat abs. It’s true that abs crunches will help you to get a rock solid abs, but for that you have to first burn all the fat that is stored in your body. So, only abs crunches will not be great help.
You can eat anything you want if you exercise daily: The fact is you have to burn more calories than your intake. Suppose your daily intake is 2500 calories, to lose weight and stay fit you will have to burn more than 2500 calories. If not then the extra fat will get stored in your body and eventually you will gain weight. So if you want to lose weight then you have to burn more calories and have healthy diet.
